Lake Pleasant is a Desert Oasis for Camping!

After picking up one of our campervan rentals in Phoenix, one of the closest places you can go to escape the concrete jungle is Lake Pleasant! It’s less than 45 minutes from your pickup location, and in the Campervan Rental Adventures Northwest of Phoenix category.  We’ve had many wonderful camping trips and love that we can camp right next to the lake!

One of our favorite sunrises ever was at Lake Pleasant. Kevin woke me up around 5am and said, you have to see this! So I sleepily dragged myself out of the comfy bed in our camper van and was greeted with the glorious sunrise you see in these photos!

There’s several places there you can take one of our campervan rentals to camp.  You can do the premium RV Park at Pleasant Harbor and have all the amenities, or you can camp right on the beach.  

There are two marinas where you can rent a boat or jet ski by the hour…Scorpion Bay and Pleasant Harbor. And abundant hiking trails around the lake. 

The weather is perfect for enjoying the lake most of the year. Even in the warm summer months, the lake is a great way to cool off. In the cooler winter months, the water gets cold, but the view is still lovely and Arizona is one of the few places where you can comfortably camp in the winter!
